That's a small one!

Have you ever been back somewhere, you know from your childhood, and noticed how small something looks? We dont notice it, but over time the position of our eyes change, things are seen from different perpectives. Kneel down and see how things look for a child, very different, the angle of the light changes, all looks different.

I was at Stanage in the Peak at the weekend, the edge instantly looked smaller, its only been a year tho! I thought it had sunk, but really I just thought it bigger, not cos I have grown but that my memories of Grit stone edges are not based on my visual memory, but on my physcial, emotional memory, once you start climbing it, you realise its actually taller than it seems. Theres more to it than the 6m. 6m on most other rocks would be quick, easy, 1 move stuff, on grit its all absorbing, small moves, big challenges. My mind had played tricks one me, it forgot that what you see isnt what you feel.
